Our administrators manage your plan day to day, pay period to pay period, quarter to quarter and year to year.

Daily and Pay Period Administration

  • Field participant inquiries daily concerning website access, distribution and loan processing and general retirement plan questions
  • Process investment transfers in accordance with participant directions
  • Each pay period we review census information with previously admitted information
  • Each pay period we update census information which in turn updates vesting, employment status, participation status and account balance activity
  • Each pay period we reconcile the cash in the holding account of the plan
  • Invest participant and employer contributions according to participants' elections
  • Review and apply loan payments, if applicable
  • We calculate employer matching and nonelective contributions, if applicable

Quarterly Administration

  • Review year-to-date census information to determine vesting, employment and participation status
  • Review balances and vested balances
  • Reconcile and balance assets in the plan to participant account balances
  • Starting with the second quarter we run preliminary compliance testing, if applicable
  • Produce and send quarter-to-date valuation with quarterly participant statements

Annual Administration

  • Same as quarterly administration with the additions below:
  • Reconcile year-to-date census records with cumulative pay period data
  • Calculate and test employer allocations, if applicable
  • Complete testing of 401(k) and matching contributions, if applicable
  • Complete IRS form 5500 for filing
  • Coordinate with auditors for large plan filers
  • Update plan with all IRS required plan amendments
  • Make necessary corrections for failed compliance tests
  • File Forms 1099-R from distributions processed during the year
